Once only for the rich and powerful thousands of years ago, the art of falconry still persists today. Falconry is the sport of training birds of prey to hunt not just for themselves, but for their trainer as well.

Falconers Kenley and Ash Money will have birds on hand as they introduce you to the world of falconry.

During this live demonstration, they will talk about the art of the sport, legalities and how this art is largely responsible for the salvations of falcons and hawks worldwide. Meet and greet these amazing birds of prey and learn how you, too, can become a falconer. What most people don't realize is Arkansas is home to birds of prey that are perfect for this sport, some of which you will get to see up close.

This demonstration will take place at the amphitheater at Crowley's Ridge State Park on Saturday, February 22nd from 2pm-3pm. All participants are asked to not wear fur clothing that may resemble small prey animals. Also, no pets please.

For more information about this activity or any other activities at Crowley's Ridge State Park, please call the visitor center at 870-573-6751. The park is located on Hwy 168N in Walcott; from Paragould, travel west on Hwy 412, and from Jonesboro travel north on Hwy 141 to reach the park.
