Habitat for Humanity's Homeownership Program Accepting Eight Families in 2020

JONESBORO, Ark. (March 2, 2020) - Habitat for Humanity of Greater Jonesboro is partnering with Build Up Philip to build eight homes for families selected through the Homeownership Program in 2020.

One home is currently being built on State Street in Jonesboro for the Jordan family that is estimated to be finished in May of 2020. The next eight homes will be placed there as well on a U-shaped road with a pocket park.

Habitat's Homeownership program selects applications that demonstrate a need for housing, are willing to partner with Habitat and have the ability to pay a reduced mortgage. The goal of this project is to ultimately help create a safe living environment for families in need and change the overall image of the community.

Build Up for Philip has been organized to honor the late Philip Evans. Philip lived to help others both at home and abroad. He loved to build, so his family and friends are pulling together to raise funds to support Habitat for Humanity. Funds raised will go towards building nine Habitat for Humanity homes in Jonesboro, Arkansas.

Applicants can apply for the Homeownership program by visiting our website where they can find the application. They can pick up a physical copy at our Headquarters Office located at 520 W Monroe Ave and our ReStore location at 3610 E Highland Drive. Applications must be mailed back or dropped off back at the Headquarters Office once filled out.

The application to apply is available at JonesboroHabitat.com as of March 1st. This application is on a first-come, first-served basis and will close after all eight families have been selected. Our goal is to have all families selected within the next two months.
