Christmas is the season of giving. On Saturday December 8th & Sunday, December 16th, Crowley's Ridge State Park will host a Christmas Ornament workshop. Bring 2 non-perishable canned goods and you will be able to make a handmade Christmas ornament out of a gourd or a tree cookie. These ornaments will last a long time, but you will be leaving an even longer impact on the people you will be helping by donating canned goods. The donation of 2 canned goods will allow one person to make one ornament. Each additional ornament per person or an ornament without a canned good donation will be $2.50.

No donation is too small. Your donation to the Food Bank of Northeast Arkansas will help restock their shelves and ensure that no one goes hungry this holiday season. One in every 5 Arkansans struggle with hunger and each week, 5,000 people seek emergency food assistance like the Food Bank of Northeast Arkansas. The Food Bank provides hunger relief to people in need by raising awareness, securing resources, and distributing food through a network of non-profit agencies and programs. All canned food donations are welcome. Some of the most needed canned foods include: peanut butter, canned vegetables, soups and stews, canned fruits, canned tuna/meats, macaroni & cheese, and rice and pasta.

This workshop will take place at the Group Lodging Area Dining Hall from 1-3pm or while supplies last. Registration is not required but there is a limited amount of ornaments. All materials will be provided.
